Beyond Jira: Building Europe’s Open-Source Ticketing Future
There is still a major gap in the open-source ecosystem. and in Europe’s digital sovereignty: a truly modern alternative to Jira.
Most existing options are either built on older technology, limited by licensing or feature restrictions, and offer no real migration path from Jira.
So some time ago, we started building our own.
Not a Jira clone, but a more modern and flexible ticketing platform, designed from the ground up for both humans and AI clients. We already use it in our own development environment, and now we’ve decided to open-source it. Check it out: https://www.stacktic.io/kanso
Before the public release, we’re looking for a few companies currently using Jira that would be interested in migrating with us.
The goal is simple: validate that we can make the migration almost fully automated, prove that our generic app model can cover everything teams use Jira for — and more — and learn from real-world customer feedback.
In return, you get a modern, open-source Jira alternative with no license cost, while helping shape the platform from the very beginning.
If your company uses Jira and is interested in exploring a different path, I’d love to hear from you.
